Today, some of us started off our day by doing daily jobs. This included, setting the tables for breakfast, checking the weather for the day and making sure bedrooms were ready for inspection!
Once done, we had breakfast and got briefed on what was planned for the day.

After breakfast, and once we had cleared up and completed some more daily jobs, organised ourselves into our activity groups.
Orienteering
After having a small orienteering practice in the Dol-y-Moch grounds, the group went on a short trip by bus to a nearby trail. From there, they then had to find their way back to the centre using simple photo guides. The children did this surprisingly well, even impressing some of the instructors.

At the Beach
We travelled by mini bus to a lovely, nearby seaside town called Criccieth. There, we had lots of fun exploring multi-tidal habitats, wading and splashing in the water, and having some very tasty ice cream!

Up the Mountains
We trekked through the forest to Bryn Du, a mountain a short 25 min ride away and crossed the Glaslyn river. We had fun playing in the river, and having a picnic complete with an amazing view!

Water and Rock Activities
During our rock activity, we explored the beaches on Borth-y-Gest, where the sun was shining for us! We ran up slate, found lots of jellyfish due to the tide being low, and squeezed ourselves through natural spaces.
Our water activities today consisted of kayaking – something many of the children didn’t know how to do! We were impressed by their resilience as they navigated the waters, played a variety of games and did the ‘Dol-y-Moch Dive’. Well done to all involved!

Dinner Time
After a busy day, a much-deserved treat: Meatballs and pasta!
