The children spent some time outside enjoying a calm and focused bird-watching session around the school grounds.
With careful observation and lots of enthusiasm, they tried to spot and identify as many different birds as possible. The children quietly watched the trees, rooftops and field areas, spotting blackbirds, sparrows, house sparrows, magpies, carrion crows and wood pigeons. Some were even excited to think they had seen a robin nearby.
As well as identifying the birds, the children carefully observed and recorded the highest number of each species they could see together at the same time. It was a peaceful and enjoyable afternoon, and the children showed great patience and respect while exploring the wildlife around them.
