Year 3 have been learning about mechanisms in D/T this week. We have made moving pictures with sliders, levers and linkage mechanisms. We have also made a moving flag model by making our own cam mechanism. It has been a lot of fun!
This week Year 3 enjoyed a trip to Kingsbury Water Park. We had the opportunity to experience a Stone Age Day. There were lots activities to help us learn about life in the stone age. We had a go at building our own shelters from logs and materials found in the forest, making fire with steel and flint, roasting marshmallows

Year 3 have been learning about the Commonwealth Games. Each Sports Day team was given a Commonwealth country and asked to find out about their sporting history. We had lots of fun finding out about flags, populations and how many different sports the country has competed in. We found out that some countries have won many medals over the years!
Year 3 enjoyed a tea party (indoors due to the great British weather!) to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We had a afternoon of activities about the Queen, cakes and drinks too. We watched part of the Queen’s coronation ceremony and looked at important events within the Queen’s lifetime. We had a lot of fun!
