This week has been an exciting week in Reception! We have started our phonics learning and have learnt the sounds s, a, t and p and have had a go at forming these letters. In maths we have been subitising 1-3, representing those numbers on our fingers and recognising the numbers inside larger groups of objects. Our topic this half term is ‘Let’s Explore’ and we have enjoyed talking and learning about each others families and the different types of houses that there are. We read the story ‘Our Class is a Family’ and spoke about how a family is not just who you are related to. We also have completed our first piece of work where we drew who we live with in our houses. During busy time we have had lots of fun making houses using junk modelling, practising our letter formation and scissor skills and exploring our outdoor environment even more.
