This week in Nursery we have started our new mini project, ‘Exploring Autumn’.
On Monday the children enjoyed walking around our school grounds, looking for signs of Autumn. They had lots of fun playing in the Autumn leaves and watching the Sycamore helicopters spin round and round!
We have learned a new Autumn dance called ‘Autumn Chikka Boom’.
The children have explored Autumn leaves, conkers, acorns, fir cones and twigs. We have been using our senses to think and talk about how the objects feel, smell, look and listening to hear if they make a sound!
The children listened to the story ‘Leaf Man’ by Lois Ehlert and enjoyed using their imaginations to create their own leaf art!
We have learned lots of Autumn counting and action songs too! The children enjoyed learning some Makaton signs from Mr Tumble in the song ‘Golden, Golden’ on Cbeebies.
We talked about animals that live in a wood or a forest and compared them to farm animals and our pets.
The children had lots of fun developing their fine motor skills when we played ‘Dough Disco’!
