We went through phase 4 longer words and compound words this week as well as tricky words there, when, what and one. In maths we looked at composition of numbers to 10 recognising the larger part of 10 presented on a double dice frame using ‘5 and a bit’ structure’ and subitising the smaller part. We also used finger patterns to represent two parts of ten. For our mini topic Creep, Crawl and Wriggle we started by going on a minibeast hunt in our local environment. We enjoyed reading, sequencing and writing about The Very Hungry Caterpillar using capital letters and full stops. We grouped minibeasts by identifying their common features, created beautiful blossom trees for Art Week, dug for worms and planted some new plants. We really enjoyed tasting our own spinach leaves and radish too!
