It was return of Sportshall Athletics for our Year 5 and 6 pupils at the AT7 Centre, and—after weeks of practice in PE—a talented team was selected and ready to go.
The squad burst into action, flying out of the blocks in the opening running events. They made a brilliant start in the obstacle and over/under races, showing great speed and teamwork. While the track events were underway, our athletes were also pushing hard in the field events, aiming to beat their personal bests in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, Vertical Jump and Chest Push.
Heading straight into the Coventry East Final, the competition with Bablake was incredibly close from start to finish. It was fantastic to see our children cheering each other on, showing real determination and team spirit as they fought for every point.
Ernesford saved their best performances for the final stages, excelling in the Speed Bounce, Javelin, and the always-exciting 4×1 relay. The effort, focus and enthusiasm from every team member were outstanding.
Once all the scores were in, and after a tense wait, we were crowned Coventry East Champions! An incredible achievement—and our second year in a row as Sportshall champions!
Well done to the whole team—you made us proud!
