This week we started our phase 3 sounds which were -ai, -ee, -igh and -oa as well as tricky words that we needed to practise! In maths we drew attention to the purpose of counting, to find out how many and understanding that the position of number in a sequence does not change. We started our new topic ‘Long Ago’ with an exciting visit from a parent and baby! We asked lots of questions about what a baby needs, read Peepo, looked at our own baby photographs to see how we’ve changed and looked at our families too. We sequenced the story Peepo later in the week and used our writing skills to write what we saw. In other areas we enjoyed making our own sockybugs to display and play with, cutting and sticking baby items in the correct columns and playing dice games and tricky word games.
