Week Beginning 3/3/25

In Phonics we have continued to practise sounds from phase 3 and tricky words that the children find difficult. In maths we have been consolidating our knowledge of composition to 7 and investigating part-part whole relations. This week our mini project was Stories and Rhymes. We enjoyed reading The Gingerbread man amongst other traditional tales and our book for world book day; I Don’t Like Books. Never. Ever. The End. The children indulged in making their own ‘pancakes’ in the fine motor area and flipping them in a pan, they also enjoyed making ginger bead men, using their maths skills to sort the ducks in the pond and using their creative skills to dress up and paint daffodils. To add to the excitement we had Mr Taylor read us one of his favourite stories and we investigated which materials were best to catch Humpty (eggs) in. Paper was not a good choice! We were very proud of the children for attending their first ever assembly in celebration of World Book Day and learning the song Readers are Leaders by MC Grammar in music!
