This week, we have been looking at how to measure mass in maths. We have learnt that mass is measured in grams (g) and kilograms (kg). Here, we are comparing the mass of different classroom objects using balancing scales.

This week we have explored our art topic ‘Still Life’ further. We sketched object from different angles, then made our own still life sculptures using clay and special tools to add some texture.
In maths this week we have been learning how to calculate change. We set up our own shop and worked in partners (one being the customer and the other being the shopkeeper), and calculated change from £1.
In Maths this week, we learned about the different coins and notes we use. We practised adding different types of coins and notes together to see how much money each teacher had.
We mixed primary colours to make secondary colours. We then used the paints to complete different composition templates. Here is how they turned out!
This week we have investigated 2-D and 3-D shapes and learned about their properties. We had fun using our new knowledge of sides and vertices, making 2-D shapes from play dough and paper straws. Some of our shapes were regular, some were irregular polygons. We even made octagons!
This week we carried out some experiments and found out that using warm water and soap is the most efficient method for removing oil and dirt from our hands.
