World Book Day on Thursday 7th March was a big success at Ernesford Grange Primary School. The children had a fun day and produced some amazing work based on their chosen books.
All the EYFS and KS1 World Book Day Activities were based on the story ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers. The teachers all dressed as crayons, the children read the story together and wrote some wonderful poetry.
In Y3 and Y4 the children’s activities were based on ‘Flotsam’ by David Wiesner. An amazing picture book in which the main character finds a camera containing photographs of under the sea scenes. The children enjoyed participating in drama and wrote some fantastic diary entries.
In Y5 and Y6 the children were studying a book called ‘The Island’ by Armin Greder. The children were learning to empathise with the main character and produced some fantastic predictions and extended writing.
