We have had a busy week in Year 3! Our writing has been based on Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. In preparation for writing our own stories, we have participated in a Stone Age “experience day.” The children had great fun acting out scenes as a freeze frame looking at the pictures from the story – hunting animals, catching fish, cooking on an open fire etc. We also made our own Cave Art using pastels, drawing stone age animals such as Woolly Mammoths and Sabre Tooth Tigers!
Year 3 have also been doing their Maths lessons in the Learning Hub, where we have used the tables to write on, which was exciting! The children were great at partitioning numbers and solving problems using their equipment. For Music, the children have also been busy planning and composing their own Rhythm Grids. Mr Withers was very impressed!
