We looked at the new sounds -air and -er and read words with double letters such as -bb, -rr and -gg and learnt the new tricky words are, sure and pure as well as recapping on some previous sounds and tricky words. In maths we focussed on comparison work and using the vocabulary quantity, more than, fewer than and equal to when comparing amounts. We had lots of fun exploring dinosaurs this week as part of our topic! We found out some new facts, named dinosaurs, anticipated the arrival of a new dinosaur that is due to hatch and drew a dinosaur to size! For our writing this week we decided to write a letter to Harry from Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs to see if it was his missing egg! We worked on our fine motor skills using pom poms and tweezers, made dinosaurs out of shapes, thought about how we feel for Children’s Mental Health day, found fossils and dinosaurs prints in the sand and creative area.
