This week in year 2 we have been learning about common nouns and proper nouns. We sorted words into groups with a partner and took part in a ‘Proper Noun Hunt’.

We have been learning to tell the time to the nearest quarter of an hour and 5 minutes. We used the clocks to consolidate our learning.

We had lots of fun baking our own dessert shop style cookie dough in skills academy! Firstly, we used pre-made cookie dough and pressed it into tin ramekins. Next, we baked it in the oven. After that we got to choose our own toppings. We added melted white chocolate, sprinkles, marshmallows and ice cream. It was delicious!

In science, we are conducting an investigation using cress seeds, to see if water is an important variable when growing plants. We have each predicted whether the cup ‘with water’ or ‘without water’ will germinate. We also got to plant our own sunflower seeds too!
