This week in Maths, as part of our Me and My Community topic, the children have been exploring and comparing height. They enjoyed standing back-to-back to compare their heights, as well as lying on large sheets of paper and drawing around each other to explore how tall they are. Throughout the activities, we developed mathematical vocabulary including tall, short, taller than, shorter than, tallest, shortest, measure, height, same height, compare and longer. The children used these words to describe their observations and make comparisons, while celebrating that everyone is unique and different.
