This week the focus in Phonics was words with two or more digraphs, revisiting phase 3 sounds and tricky words; no, of, to, into, she, he and we. In Maths we thought about composition and sorting objects into groups according to their criteria (size, shape or colour). We read The Smartest Giant in Town and The Ginger Bread Man. The children enjoyed following instructions after listening to the story to make their own ginger bread men! We thought about what materials we could use to help save Humpty Dumpty when he fell off the wall and discovered that paper and a plastic tray did not help and the egg cracked! The children also enjoyed traveling around over and under objects to Horsey Horsey outside and dressing up for World Book Day.
