We have had a very hot week this week! Even in the heat we still powered through and in phonics we learnt root words with -ing, root words with -ed as /t/, root words with -ed as /id/ and root words with -ed as /d/. In maths we have been practising our automatic recall of our number bonds to 5 and 10 including some double facts. In topic we started our mini topic ‘Move It!’ as it was meant to be sports day on Wednesday. We read the book the hare and the tortoise and afterwards recalled the story. We also learnt about different sporting heroes, learnt how to stay fit and healthy and then completed a piece of writing on this. In busy time we enjoyed keeping cool in the shade playing in the water tray and investigating how long it takes for water to evaporate in this heat. We also enjoyed having some ice-lolly’s that a kind parent donated to the school.
