We had so much fun learning about what it would have been like to be a child in Victorian times. We went to school where we sat on wooden benches and wrote on slates. The teacher was very strict! Afterwards we worked in the kitchen and made lemonade and butter for a very special visitor. Finally we had etiquette lessons
This week we have covered CCVC words in phonics and went over any tricky words needed. In maths we focussed on counting beyond 20deepening the children’s understanding of number. In other areas we have learnt about rock pools, what animals live at the seashore, sounds of the seaside and what animals eat. For writing we wrote about rock pools independently.
This week, the children have been exploring our topic shadows and reflections. They investigated reflections in different ways, including looking at themselves in mirrors and observing reflections in water.
