We have been counting up and down a numberline to 20 this week. We hid numbers for our partner to work out with their ‘x-ray eyes’. We also went outside and placed numbers on a blank numberline by using our reasoning skills.

We have been learning about the verb ‘to be’ this week. We played games inside and outside and wrote some of our own sentences using the correct form of the verb ‘to be’.
8 children of our KS1 children were able to take part in an annual science workshop run by the science coordinators from across 4 of our partnership schools. Each school ran a small science workshop to teach children about different areas of science. There were rocket mice, bubble art, thaumatropes and static electricity sessions. The children in year 1 worked together to sort raw materials to items that are made from them. They learnt lots about different everyday materials.
We had fun in forest school making dens. We worked together as a team and added leaves and sticks to make them even better!
We used our investigative skills to find and sort leaves according to their properties. We learnt about the different parts of a leave including the margin, blade, stalk and veins. We also found out about different types of leaves such as palmate, simple, compound and lobe.
We have been learning about Victorians. The children went to St John’s museum in Warwick and experienced what it would have been like to be a child in Victorian Britain. We even made our own butter and lemonade!
Year 1 and 2 children are thoroughly enjoying being heard read by the Year 6 reading ambassadors. They are becoming more confident at reading to someone new and answering some questions about their book. Keep it up everyone!
It was brilliant to see the Gymnastics competitions back at school. The children worked so hard in their PE lessons and clubs to be chosen to represent the school at the brilliant Tribe Centre. The children were taught a floor and vault routine that was scored as we competed against the other schools in Coventry East. The Year 3 team
In Geography we have been learning about London. They then made comparisons with Kuala Lumpur. The children noticed similarities and differences between the two cities. They saw that both cities had rivers, tall towers and a zoo. They really enjoyed exploring Kuala Lumpur using google earth.
