This week covered er, air, double letters, longer words and tricky words; full, push, and, go, no and of. In Maths we focussed on subitising looking at doubles up to 5 and using manipulatives and pictorial representations to build on previous experiences with dice patterns and numbers on fingers. Year 3 have been busy this week learning about fractions. We ended the week by taking our knowledge of ordering fractions to the playground. A little competition indicated what we have learnt and what we need to work on next week.
Today we have been looking at what kind of information is safe to share online, and what shouldn’t be shared. We looked at lots of different scenarios where information has been shared safely or unsafely. The children also looked at how to share photos safely.
This week in Phonics we revisited all phase 3 sounds and tricky words. In Maths we looked at the composition of 7 when it is split into two parts using the vocabulary part and whole. We also started our new topic ‘Ready, Steady Grow’ by reading The Gigantic Turnip and writing about the story in
The beach hut project is well underway in Year 2, with the children learning how to measure, cut and join wood together in preparation for making their beach hut frames next week.

It was the return of rowing for Year 6. In their PE lessons all children had a turn using the rowing machine. Over the next few weeks they then attempted to beat their score.
