This week Reception have enjoyed learning all about bridges and machines. They were challenged to get a car across a tuff tray without getting wet. They also watched a video and discussed what bridges are used for, the materials they are made from and why we use them. We decided to draw a self portrait. We put an acetate over a photo of ourselves and traced all the different features we could see. We hope you like our work!
The children enjoyed listening to the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’. They then decorated their own gingerbread men with icing and sweeties! Yummy!

This week we began our new project ‘Once Upon a Time’ and have been listening to different fairy tales. The children have enjoyed exploring a variety of materials to make some magnificent magic wands! They then had fun making wishes with their magic wands…abracadabra!

A new group for Forest School this half term. We split into opposing tribes and tried to create the most sturdy structure using the large branches. Then we lined up against the enemies structure and tried to knock them down (safely) using smaller sticks as missiles. We had lots of fun and both towers survived!
Our year 5 children have been becoming experts on the different continents and learning everything there is to know about one capital city within their continent. Lots of discussion and teamwork to help them retain all that knowledge to share with the other groups.
For our Art work this half term Year Three have been investigating contrasting and complementary colours. We made our own colour wheels using watercolour paints and looked at work from various artists. Our final piece had to try and replicate the colours used in the artists work. We think we were very successful! What do you think?
