8 children of our KS1 children were able to take part in an annual science workshop run by the science coordinators from across 4 of our partnership schools. In Maths this week, we learned about the different coins and notes we use. We practised adding different types of coins and notes together to see how much money each teacher had.
We mixed primary colours to make secondary colours. We then used the paints to complete different composition templates. Here is how they turned out!
This week we have investigated 2-D and 3-D shapes and learned about their properties. We had fun using our new knowledge of sides and vertices, making 2-D shapes from play dough and paper straws. Some of our shapes were regular, some were irregular polygons. We even made octagons!
Year 2 have been using a website called Code.org to help us understand how algorithms work. We have had fun completing lots of puzzles. Some puzzles require us to use loops in our programs to control the different on-screen characters.
