Our new Skills Academy Club ‘Walking and Talking’ has proved very popular with the children. This week, we also incorporated a little tree climbing. It has been such a treat to spend time with this group in the open air and enjoy some very diverse conversation with them.

After a busy week of assessments, we took the children outside for an active maths lesson. Children collected as many items as they could from the middle of the playground and sorted them into colours. Each total was then multiplied by a given amount. Teamwork was key! We had a lot of fun whilst practising our multiplication facts.
We were very impressed with the efforts made for Crazy Hair Day. The children looked great! Thank you to everyone for your support towards an amazing cause.
In year four, we celebrated Science Week by designing a home for some ‘needy’ ice cubes. The ice cubes asked the children to help them slow down the melting process. Three of our Year Four children ran four miles during Skills Academy. That’s 16 laps of our field! We were very impressed with them. Needless to say, they were a little tired afterwards.
The children in year one and year four have been working very hard on writing their own stories based on the books we read for World Book Day. Year four read Tuesday by David Weisner whilst year one read I don’t like books. Never ever. The end. by Emma Perry. We got together to share our stories with one another.
The children looked great on World Book Day. We had a lot of different characters in our classrooms. The children enjoyed a WBD themed assembly and have looked at a variety of picture books vs books with no pictures. We found enjoyment from them all in different ways.
Year four were lucky to have a visit from Severn Rivers Trust this week. We had the chance to consolidate our learning and add extra knowledge to it but making our own rivers. A big thank you to our visitors for a fabulous assembly and two insightful workshops.
