We spent the last hour of our Friday afternoon enjoying games of table tennis and basketball. A competitive rowing tournament commenced which we will continue over the next few weeks. It was great to see the older children encouraging the younger members of our club.

As part of our Design Technology lessons, the children made tacos and then enjoyed tasting them. As you can see, they had a lot of fun.
This week year 3 have been using the dienes to exchange and regroup when using the column method for addition and subtraction calculations. We have also learned some new vocabulary to use when subtracting.
We had a brilliant day at Ryton Pools learning new facts and expanding on our knowledge of The Stone Age. We looked at artefacts, built dens, toasted ‘mushrooms’ and learnt about the history of the local environment.
Mrs Pedley and her group have been busy creating a whole host of interesting Halloween based items.
Our year 6 sports leaders having been supporting on the Key Stage 1 playground and helping Mr Hancock and Mr Burgess with their lunchtime clubs.
This week, year 3 enjoyed writing and performing their own cinquain poems about animals. We followed the rules carefully and expanded our vocabulary choices.
We enjoyed using our investigative skills to find patterns in numbers. It was a little windy but that didn’t stop us from going outside and using our outdoor classroom.
We have been working hard to learn the many, many, many rules of netball.
Year five have been practising their athletics skills this half term and applying their Real PE skills of reaction and response.
