We had to colour the hexagons. We could use whatever colours we liked. Our challenge was to make sureno hexagons next to each other were the same colour!

This week we are learning about bees! We have tasted honey sandwiches and have rolled beeswax candles! On Friday 20th May, it was World Bee Day!
Over the last 4 weeks we have watched our own pet caterpillars grow and change into beautiful butterflies!
Making paper ladybirds is a great way to practise doubling and also our cutting and sticking skills!
Reception looked closely at photos of different minibeasts! We then painted our own pictures! We thought carefully about the colour and the shape of their bodies, the number of legs and whether they had wings or not. We also thought about their habitats.
Reception worked in pairs to make words using phoneme frames.
Reception have been exploring doubles this week in Maths Mastery!
We had lots of fun in P.E. playing some parachute games!
Reception had a wonderful time exploring the woods looking for minibeasts. We then did some pond dipping and found some other exciting water creatures! We also enjoyed having a picnic!
We have spent this half term learning about sound and music.Our topic has finished with a little concert, using sounds in songs, thinking about different voice sounds, playing our wonderful home-made instruments in different ways, including forte and piano!
