We have had a fantastic half term travelling to different countries! Here are a few of our wonderful displays that we would like to share with you.

Look how busy we have been in Reception! We have visited three different continents on our world trip this week! We have tasted different foods and learned lots of interesting facts about each country. We got to dress up and play some African instruments, which Sara’s mum bought in. Mrs Copeland made some delicious damper bread and showed us some
We continued our journey into Greece, where we designed some Grecian urns and heard stories about some mythical creatures. We had very mixed reactions to the olives we tasted! What a busy week we have had in Reception! We travelled by ferry across the Irish Sea to Ireland, where we learned about leprechauns, did some fantastic finger painted shamrocks, tasted some delicious potato cakes and heard stories about Saint Patrick and how the Giant’s Causeway was created by two giants who had a fight and threw stones at eachother!
What a busy week we have had in Reception! We packed our suitcases and travelled to Wales! Mr Taylor taught us some Welsh. We tasted some delicious Welsh cakes, which Ms Richards very kindly made! We then went by steam train to Bonny Scotland where we did some Scottish sword dancing, made some clay Loch Ness monsters and tasted some
We enjoyed our mini trip to Binley Road! We saw lots of different kinds of vehicles! We counted the traffic and made a tally charts too!
What a busy week we have had in Reception! Bill the Beekeeper came to visit and told us all about honey bees. We made some beeswax candles and tasted some yummy honey. In maths we learned about hexagons and were set a challenge where no two hexagons next to each other, could be the same colour! We also enjoyed programming
In Reception we were able to release our beautiful ‘Painted Lady’ butterflies! We waved goodbye to them as they flew off into the distance! Over the last few weeks, it has been so exciting to see the life cycle of a butterfly and experience it first hand!
We were so excited to have our own pet caterpillars! We watched them grow and grow! One day the caterpillars turned into chrysalises. We waited and watched and then out emerged some beautiful butterflies!
In Reception we made some lovely ladybirds using paper and glue. We also learned about the life cycle of a ladybird too!
