The children in Reception had a fantastic time celebrating Polly and Spooky Zooky’s birthday. During the week we had made birthday cards and written invitations. On Friday we enjoyed dancing, playing party games and eating cake! Polly and Spooky Zooky enjoyed it too!
We had great fun wearing odd socks to school on Monday! We thought about bullying as part of Anti-Bullying Week.
We have raised lots of money for Children in Need when we came to school with ‘Bad Hair’! We also had a cake sale, where there were lots of delicious cakes … yummy!
On 11th November we had a special assembly about Remembrance Day (Poppy Day). Later on we created some beautiful poppies. We used different media including collage and paint. We also took part in a two minutes silence.
We had a fabulous time getting creative this week. We used a variety of different media to make some fantastic fireworks pictures. Here are some photos of some of our wonderful creations!
We enjoyed our special Harvest assembly and listened to the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’. We loved tasting some delicious different types of bread later on that day …yummy! A big ‘Thank you’ for all the kind donations of food we received for the Coventry Food Bank too!
We had lots of fun exploring Autumn when we went on our Autumn walk around school. We looked at the changes in colour of the leaves on the trees. We found worm casts and fungi. We really enjoyed throwing the leaves up into the air and kicking them too!
The children enjoyed playing with Jelly Babies, pretending to play in the park or in the doll’s house. The Jelly Babies were ‘good friends’ as the children thought about sharing, taking turns, helping one another and being kind.
In assembly Mrs Gould read the story ‘Enemy Pie!’ Afterwards the children sorted pictures of pebbles with friendship and enemy words written on them. They had to decide whether the words went in the ‘Friendship pie’ or the ‘Enemy pie’. We considered words such as kind, caring, friendly, mean, sad and hurtful.
