In Reception we enjoyed looking for minibeasts in our outdoor area. We explored the woodland habitat, looking in soil, in the log pile and under stones and pots! You wouldn’t believe how many different kinds of minibeasts we found!
On Wednesday Reception went on a terrific trip! We learned all about minibeasts and their habitats! We really enjoyed pond dipping and exploring the woods. We found lots of different minibeasts, including beetles, worms and slugs! Mrs Gould’s class even found some newts hiding in the pond! We had a lovely picnic and had ice cream for dessert! Yummy!

This week we met three musicians! Mr Fardon played some nursery rhymes in different ways on his piano. We learned about Mozart, Beethoven, Jazz, the Waltz and Boogie Woogie! It was fantastic to have all the children back in Reception and what an exciting week we had, finding out all about ‘The Science of Sound’!
Reception had an exciting time on Thursday. We had fun dancing during our ‘glow stick’ party and played lots of party games. There was a chocolate Tombola, where everyone won a prize. We enjoyed some party food too! The best bit was a visit from Santa on horse back! He even left some presents for us! Merry Christmas everyone!
