This week Year 3 have been very busy! We celebrated European Day of Languages on Tuesday and completed a number of French Challenges set by The British Council. Year 1 have begun composing their own music with Mr Withers. They chose which instruments to use and clapped their own rhythm. We can’t wait to carry on with this next week and hear the finished pieces!
This week in Nursery the children have been celebrating how we are the same and different to our friends. They enjoyed looking in mirrors and painting their own self portraits. We talked about our different heights and drew around the tallest and the shortest person in Nursery. The children enjoyed exploring different lengths of ribbons, the ‘snakes’ and the Compare
We had fun making up our own adventures for old bear and his friends. Thinking about who was in the story, where they were, what went wrong and who helped.
The Year 1’s talked about different types of shelters and where we may find them. As a group they created their own shelter and decorated their dens with all sorts of things! Some of the children told stories, whilst others created their own games to play.
KS1 forest schools skills academy club collected a variety of different dried leaves to create their own fox masks. They then went over to the school vegetable patch to pick some carrots. They were delicious and very crunchy!
This week the children have learnt their first sounds in phonics, which are s, a, t, p, and they had a review day to recap on their learning. In Maths we introduced the children to Numberblocks and subitising, which they really enjoyed. They explored the story We’re going on a bear hunt with a story map. This was explored further
