As Busy as a Bee!

What a busy week we have had in Reception! Bill the Beekeeper came to visit and told us all about honey bees. We made some beeswax candles and tasted some yummy honey. In maths we learned about hexagons and were set a challenge where no two hexagons next to each other, could be the same colour! We also enjoyed programming

Bye, Bye Butterflies!

Science – Sound

We have been learning about how sounds are made and how they travel. We tried an experiment with a coat hanger and some string. We wrapped the string around our fingers and put our fingers in our ears. The coat hanger sounded really loud when we wrapped the string around our fingers and knocked it on the tyres because the

Osiris – Ancient Egyptian myth

As part of Year 5’s study of ancient Egypt, the children have been studying the story of Osiris. As part of this topic, small groups of children have written the story as a playscript and then performed their scene in front of the whole class. A lot of hard work was undertaken to write the scripts and then a lot
