We’ve been doing a lot of research about the polar regions this week. Before we wrote our favourite facts, we created our own success criteria of what our informative writing should include. We also used the iPads to create our own Padlet about the polar landscapes.

Invasion games coupled with the seated balance and jumping and landing is the focus for KS2 this half term.
The children had lots of fun celebrating Polly and Spooky Zooky’s birthdays!
KS1 have been busy practising their seated balance and jumping and landing skills in their PE lessons. They have also been perfecting their dribbling, hitting and kicking skills whilst encouraging me anther and helping each other to improve.
We started our new topic by looking at the parts of the digestive system and trying to guess what they were and where they went. We made quite a few mistakes!! We are looking forward to finding out how the digestive system actually works as we continue our topic.
We started Anti-Bullying week with odd socks day. The children looked great – thank you for your support. The theme this year was “one kind word”. We talked about how important kind words were and then chose our favourites to make a colourful display.
Over the last two weeks Reception have been over to the Learning Hub. RSG practised their ‘Over the Bridge’ letters. It was ver exciting because we could write on the whiteboard tables! RKG worked in groups to talk about an ORT book called “Getting Up” and then used their ideas to make story sentences.
The School Council had a fantastic time helping to organise a cake sale to raise money for Children in Need. The children designed some posters which were put up around school to advertise the event. We raised an amazing £450! Many thanks to all of our parents and carers for your generous donations of delicious cakes!
As part of our Predator topic this term, Eclipse Falconry who are based at Ash End Farm came into our classes with a variety of animals including a tawny owl, harris hawk, ferret and a boa constrictor! The children found out a lot of key facts about each animal and their adaptations and asked Craig and Megan questions to learn
We carried out a science experiment in Nursery this week. We had some dirty 2p coins that we wanted to make shiny. We put one in salt and vinegar, one in lemon juice, one in tomato ketchup and one in coke. We then waited for 30 seconds. We predicted whether we thought the coins would be shiny or not. It
