It has been great getting the Year 5/6 boys football season going although every game has been either raining or the game played on a boggy pitch. Two games for the team so far, the first was away to Stivichall. A tough first game with Ernesford leading 1-0 for the majority of the match, thankfully a mad couple of minutes
Year 5 Dodgeball was the first competition this half term. We were able to take 2 teams to the AT7 Centre with a team chosen from each class. This was a values competition, after each game we scored the other school on their Respect, Honesty and Teamwork. Our children represented the school with all of these values. A brilliant morning
The Year 5/6 Girls Football season started with a tournament at Binley Woods Primary School. We were invited by Onside Coaching to the 10 team tournament. We were put into 2 groups of 5. We started with 2 tough games against Dunchurch and Paddox Primary School, the girls worked really hard to win both games 1-0. A very impressive start
We enjoyed our Harvest Festival which was led by the Reverend Jon Taylor from St Bartholomew’s church. He spoke about the importance of being thankful for what we have and how it is kind to share. He also described how his church would be celebrating Harvest this year. As a school we collected enough food
During our science lessons, we have been investigating the effects of different forces. To test the effects of friction on toy cars, we set up an experiment to see how far it would travel over different surfaces.
In our history work, we have been using our researching skills to find out more about the production of Jade and Silk objects during the Shang Dynasty. Half of the class became experts in one of the two and then presented their findings to the other experts.
Teams competed to complete as many questions as possible using the numbers they collected from around our learning hub. We utilised our whiteboard tables to show our calculations.
