Year 3 are thoroughly enjoying their forest school lessons with Mrs Slater. They have been busy learning new skills whilst improving their teamwork.

On 8th March, our girls took part in the countrywide celebration of #thisgirlcan by playing football with each other. They shared their skills, discussed tactics and had a lot of fun!
This week we staring our design and technology topic ‘Making it Move’ and experimented with levers and split pins.
Year 3 have been busy this week learning about fractions. We ended the week by taking our knowledge of ordering fractions to the playground. A little competition indicated what we have learnt and what we need to work on next week.
Thank you to all the children who made the evening so much fun and thank you to all the parents for your support in helping us raise lots of money for school fund.
The children have practised their skills using chime bars to accompany songs and the first few chords on the ukulele.
Year 3 had a special visitor this week. Dr Watson from the Ogden Trust came to talk to us about forces and magnets. The children carried out a variety of investigations and expanded their scientific knowledge. A highlight of the morning for the children (and teachers) was getting to have a go on a hover board.
We have had a fun week in our maths lessons this week. We explored combinations and possibilities by dressing up a member of our class with different items to see how many different outfit combinations we could make. We then used our science knowledge about balanced diets to explore different combinations of food groups. Later on in the week, we
Year 3 enjoyed their recent investigation into the different soil types in our area. We have also made our own ammonite art work using tracing paper and polystyrene tiles.
