Anti-Bullying Posters!

During Anti-Bullying week, the School Council ran a competition to raise awareness about being kind. We were very impressed with the entries, which made it very difficult to reach a decision about our winners! These are our favourites, along with the entries. This week as part of our mini project, ‘Sparkle and Shine’, the children brought in photos of different celebrations and shared them with the rest of the class. We talked about special foods eaten during celebrations and got to taste panettone (a special Italian cake, eaten at Christmas), which got a big thumbs up!

We designed packaging for our crisps and made the vegetable crisps to go inside. Some of us are hoping to have another go making some more at home!

Special visitors

Reception enjoyed a visit from our local fire brigade today. They got to sit inside the vehicle, learnt all about the different equipment, got to use the hose to try to spray Mrs Copeland and even heard the siren. They had great fun, but did get a little wet! Miss Conniff even got to try on the kit. A big

Maths Challenges

Several children from Year 5 had the opportunity to participate in an online maths challenge this week. Along with other children from other schools, they had to follow instructions and complete a series of tasks to escape from Lochdonia Manor! The children needed all their teamwork and problem solving skills to work out these tricky tasks and they then had

Cooking on the open fire

In our final session of a large Forest School block, the year 6 children reflected on the skills they’ve learned and enjoyed cooking bananas and chocolate within the open fire. Although it was messy, we enjoyed keeping warm and talked about our favourite bits from our Forest School sessions previously.
