During Anti-Bullying week, the School Council ran a competition to raise awareness about being kind. We were very impressed with the entries, which made it very difficult to reach a decision about our winners! These are our favourites, along with the entries. This morning, two of our talented writers represented Year 4 at an event at Broad Heath! Thank you for showing how amazing we are.
This week as part of our mini project, ‘Sparkle and Shine’, the children brought in photos of different celebrations and shared them with the rest of the class. We talked about special foods eaten during celebrations and got to taste panettone (a special Italian cake, eaten at Christmas), which got a big thumbs up!

We have been enjoying learning about healthy snacks in Technology. We tasted different flavoured vegetable crisps and then decided which ones we wanted to include in our healthy snack. We designed packaging for our crisps and made the vegetable crisps to go inside. Some of us are hoping to have another go making some more at home!
On Monday we sang our Christmas songs around the tree. Mr Riley and Gareth helped us film them and we can’t wait to see the finished video and share it with you.

Reception enjoyed a visit from our local fire brigade today. Several children from Year 5 had the opportunity to participate in an online maths challenge this week. Along with other children from other schools, they had to follow instructions and complete a series of tasks to escape from Lochdonia Manor! The children needed all their teamwork and problem solving skills to work out these tricky tasks and they then had
In our final session of a large Forest School block, the year 6 children reflected on the skills they’ve learned and enjoyed cooking bananas and chocolate within the open fire. Although it was messy, we enjoyed keeping warm and talked about our favourite bits from our Forest School sessions previously.
