Year 5 Dodgeball was the first competition this half term. We were able to take 2 teams to the AT7 Centre with a team chosen from each class. This was a values competition, after each game we scored the other school on their Respect, Honesty and Teamwork. Our children represented the school with all of these values. A brilliant morning

This week year 3 have been using the dienes to exchange and regroup when using the column method for addition and subtraction calculations. We have also learned some new vocabulary to use when subtracting.
This week in Nursery we have continued to think about Harvest, fruit, vegetables and especially pumpkins! The children enjoyed sorting fruit and vegetables on a flip chart game. We discussed our favourite fruit and vegetables and thought about healthy eating. The role play changed into Wizardy Woo’s kitchen and the children have had fun dressing up and making frog soup

The netball team had their first tournament this week, the network schools set up a netball tournament at the University of Warwick. A brilliant venue for the children to experience High 5 netball for the first time. The team started in brilliant fashion winning their first game. The Year 5/6 Girls Football season started with a tournament at Binley Woods Primary School. We were invited by Onside Coaching to the 10 team tournament. We were put into 2 groups of 5. We started with 2 tough games against Dunchurch and Paddox Primary School, the girls worked really hard to win both games 1-0. A very impressive start
Year 6 were transported back to October 1942 as they were evacuated to the countryside for their safety. Their journey began at Holdenby House where they were instructed by Stella the land girl, Mrs North the cook and Mrs FO before being billeted in local villages.
This week the children thought about what they would wear in hot and cold places, we read Mr Gumpy’s Outing by John Burningham and retold the story using masks and discussed new vocabulary such as: squabble, bleat and trample.
