Children have been logging into the website code.org and practising their coding skills. The website gives them a range of coding challenges involving some well known characters like Angry Bird, BB8 and Plant vs Zombie.
This week we carried on with our phonics learning and learnt the phonemes ff, ss, ll and j. We have also learnt some new tricky words this week and they are put, pull, full, as. We continued our learning in ‘Marvellous Machines’ where we looked at different poems about machines, talked about the features of poems which then helped us
The children in Mrs Kingswell and Mrs Masterson’s cooking club enjoyed making and tasting different things, including pitta bread pizzas, shortbread biscuits, crispie cakes, cinnamon and chocolate rolls and even becoming chocolatiers.
This half term the children are working hard to develop their Dribbling, Hitting and Kicking skills. Well done children, keep up the good work!

In Year 2, we have been practising using base 10 and calculation mats to help us add across a 10. Using the apparatus helped us with our place value and with our regrouping when crossing over a 10.
This week we started our topic Marvellous Machines! We looked at different kinds of machines what they do to help us. In Maths we were focusing on counting and comparing size. In RE we learnt about Diwali and how it is celebrated. We made our own Rangoli patterns and explored with Mehndi patterns! Another focus this week was Remembrance Day.
