We went on a walk around school to spot different aspects of our natural world. We found a birds nest, fungi, lichen, moss and sadly some litter. We discussed why we should look after our world and how we could do this.
Year 2 have been making the same amount of money in three different ways using a range of coins. We also discussed how we made the amounts using the smallest number of coins.
As some children in Year 5 begin their Forest School sessions, they start to discover allotments (linked to their geography topic of Sow, Grow and Farm). Year 5’s Earth and Space topic has seen them discover and understand many of our Solar System’s phenomena; from our Moon’s lunation to how the planets orbit the Sun. Using models and demonstrations, the children were able to better understand the mind-boggling scale of our Solar System.
