Day 5 is now over and it has been another very busy day indeed, ending with 9 healthy hatched chicks. One egg, unfortunately showed no signs of hatching. In Nursery we had lots of fun taking part in forest school this week. We put on our coats and wellie boots and set off down the bottom of the field. Mrs Slater showed us the fire pit and spoke about how important it was to stay safe around fire. She showed us how to light a fire too and
Well, what a day at school today! Eight Chicks have hatched, the first at around 6am, in a very quiet school, and the last at home-time, at around 3.30pm, when the Year 5 corridor was slightly less quiet! It was an amazing experience for the children, many of whom were lucky to witness a hatching as it happened.
With our partners we used different construction materials to create magnificent castles! It was great fun!
Whilst learning about rollercoasters in Year 5, we have been wondering how people are able to go against gravity at great speeds during a loop-the-loop. Today we went on a walk around the local area. We found lots of rubbish, including drinks cans, crisp packets and plastic bottles. We even found a laptop, a jacket and a crisp packet with an expiry date of 2008! We brought the rubbish back to school and put it inside our metal fish.
Today, we noticed more tiny cracks appearing in some of the eggs, as well as one or two of the eggs being seen to suddenly wobble.
