Year 3 and 4 have been having fun this half term in their Skills Academy Clubs. Our clubs have included: running, boccia, clay making, mindfulness, bootcamp, outdoor sports activities and bead making. In the Summer Term there will be even more clubs to choose from as we are now able to return to a full KS2 Skills Academy. The children

We went outside today and practised counting forwards and backwards in French. We counted how many times we could throw and catch a tennis ball and how many skips we could do before we tripped on the rope.
We were very proud of the children who represented our school at the level 2 sports hall athletics this week. They did really well to come away with their third place medals. In Year 4 we found out about viruses and antibodies as part of National Science Day. We tried to make origami viruses and antibodies by folding paper carefully in a special way. It was very tricky but we were really resilient! Some children managed to remember how to fold the paper and made some more origami models at home:)
We went outside to do maths with Miss Richards and Mrs Black. We played the sticker game where we had to solve problems and then find who was wearing the sticker with the correct answer on.
We enjoyed being chocolatiers for a day! We melted some solid chocolate in the microwave and discovered that it had turned into liquid chocolate. We then poured it into a chocolate mould and put the moulds in the fridge. After a little while, our chocolates became solid again! The best part was eating them. Yum!
Two children from each year group were able to go to Coventry University today to have a look around their engineering department. We first shared some of our amazing science knowledge with other schools and got to hear what they’ve been up to too. Our sports leaders had their final session before working with the younger children next week. Apparently, the more equipment we use the better!
As well as taking some of our maths lessons outside this week, Year 6 took on the roles of the Big Bad Wolf and the lawyer for the prosecution and acted out a courtroom scene. Turns out, the story of The Three Little Pigs isn’t as straight forward as we first thought!
